Entry written by my Mom-

Becky is in Ireland for three weeks for lambing experience. She has a bedroom in the house of the farm owners. I talked with her her first evening there. The father had such a musical cheery accent when he answered the phone. She had a hard time finding the Mrs. at the airport, but they connected and ate dinner at a hotel on the way to the farm. In fact, she almost missed her flight from London to Belfast as she mixed up the flight number and the gate number, but caught it just in time to run to the other gate.

The farm is about 30 miles out of Belfast. It is an older house, but pleasant. The family consists of Mr. and Mrs. Coulter and their 23 year old son. There are about 500 ewes which were mostly all pregnant. The two fellows and Becky have about 400 baby lambs yet to deliver. The farm is about 50 acres, but they rent more land. On the afternoon of her arrival, she delivered her first wee one.

Beck and Rachel Furrow, her best friend, had a ball last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in London. On Sunday afternoon they went to Hyde Park to see the arch where the Queen starts her parades each year. This was the anniversary of the start of the Iraqi war, so there were about 100,000 peace marchers
gathering. (This is a huge park.) Beck and Rachel moseyed over to see what was going on. As the group started on their march, Beck and Rachel both got trapped and they finally climbed over a wrought iron fence to escape the crowd and hundreds of policemen.

Beck stayed in a hostel near Rachel's hotel in London. She paid extra so as to have a room with only six ladies instead of sleeping in a dorm-like room where belongings are not always safe. The room had only 3 other ladies, all from the USA tripping around Europe. She slept well, but took her showers in Rachel's hotel room. The showers at the hostel were coed and had only translucent glass doors. She wasn't up to visible showers.
