FRESHERS EDITION AUGUST 2003 We are GUVMA, the organization run by and for the
students at GUVS. The whole idea of GUVMA is to ensure that your five
years in Glasgow are the very best they can be, so keep reading, and you'll
find out how we do this. Membership costs £30 for life!!! (equivalent
to only £6 a year at Glasgow) everyone joins, and as you read on
you'll see why. Membership allows you to buy tickets for and attend all
GUVMA events (and believe me there's plenty of them to cater to all tastes),
play for the vet school sports teams, use the common room and loads of
other things, it also allows you to use the shop- a fine retail outlet,
run by ourselves, which will sell you anything and everything, from wellies
to textbooks, from thermometers to sweeties, all at majorly discounted
prices. Somewhere in this pack, you will find a membership form, and hopefully
a booklist so you can join and order discounted books straight away. Don't forget the Fresher's Forum, a specially organized event, on Thursday 23rd at 2pm in the Hogshead in Woodlands. This means you folks can meet the whole of your year, plus a shower of students from the other years. There will be free food, cheap beer, our very own Aunty Joyce (Wason), and some fantastic chat from all us old fogies (I may have entirely made up how to spell that word, hmmm, sorry) so come down and find out what the next five years have in store for you!!!! OK, I'm. almost done boring you just now, but before
Igo, a little birdie tells me you've got a lovely picture board of all
of us GUVMA lot in this pack too. That means you can put a face to the
chat they're all about to give you about what they do on GUVMA. I hope
