| Cochno farm is a working, money making farm owned by the University of Glasgow College of Veterinary medicine for use in teaching farm animal husbandry and medicine and conducting research. Currently, the farm is just over 850 acres in size and includes the Black Loch (which rummer has it, it contains a German bomber from World War II). There are approximately 90 dairy cattle, a small herd of beef cattle, 550 ewes, and a few pure-bred texel rams. The estate house was built in 1757, with a side addition added at a later time. Each year, veterinary students put in 4,360 hours of work on the farm which works out to 50 hours from each student. | ||||||||||||||
