Shopping Centres/Malls

Buchanan Galleries
A mall at the end of a downtown pedestrian only street with lots of unique stores
St. Enock
The largest shopping center in Scotland, at the other end of Buchanan Street
Braehead Shopping Centre
A great shopping mall with a large Ikea for cheep furniture and a B&Q (like Homebase).

Supermarkets

ASDA
Owned by Walmart, this is a great place to buy groceries. Most of the locations are a bit out of the way, but its worth the trouble, especially for the basics. A delivery service is soon to be avaliable.
Coop
I've always found Coop stores to be a bit expensive. Seem to be mostly small local stores.
Iceland
Specializes in frozen food at good prices, but also regular grocery items. I believe they have delivery.
Morrisons/Safeway
One of the most common grocery stores in Glasgow. A bit expensive, but very convienient. Range from the Anniesland MegaStore to small local stores. Were Safeway, but bought out by Morrisons and names are slowely changing.
Sainsburys
I don't run into these very often, but there is one downtown on Buchanan Street.
Tesco
I find Tesco the best option for shopping. Good size stores with good selection and decent prices. Also has a delivery service for only £3.
Farm Foods
A discount grocer great for frozen meals, biscuts (cookies), and tinned goods.

Another furniture store. Has delivery f
or internet orders

Next
Buchanan Galleries and Furniture and home decor
The Pier
Same as Pier One in the US. Trendy world products - very expensive

Other

Costco
Yep, the real thing. If you have a Costco card in the US, it will work here (they may give you a hassle, but stand firm). Its also right next to a giant Tesco so its a good place to visit with a friend and then catch a cab home (£7 to Queen Margaret Hall).

Jose Pinto's
A Mexican-American shop along Great Western Road. Stocks basics like Betty Crocker Cake Mix, Oreos, Hershey's syrup, etc.

Markets

The Barras
A large open air and covered market
Partick Farmers Market
2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, 10-3pm, Mansfield Park, Partick (junction Dumbarton Road and Hyndland Street)
