Alex and Claire van Straubenzee - Trustees - Henry's parents As Henry's parents, Alex and Claire were very keen to develop a lasting memorial to his life. What started as a one off donation to the school in Uganda, where Henry was destined to teach, has grown into projects in 14 different schools by the end of 2009. Thomas and Charlie van Straubenzee - Trustees - Henry's brothers Charlie Savory - Trustee - Close family friend and chartered accountant. Peter Gate - (Director) Peter himself taught at Bupadhengo Primary School in 2003 - the school at which Henry was to have taught. Since then Peter has worked with the van Straubenzee family in order to manage the projects in Uganda. He is responsible for co-ordinating our team in Uganda and liasing with the schools to plan and implement each project. Peter has spent over 9 months in Uganda in the last 5 years and enjoys a close personal relationship with all of the schools we work with. In addition, he has been invited to join the Board of Governors for three of our schools, and has been appointed an 'elder' in the village of Bupadhengo. Peter was named Clydesdale Bank Young Person of the Year 2006 in recognition of his work in Uganda. Samuel Kyana - Project Manager Samuel is a full time head teacher at one of our schools and responsible for the day to day management of our building work in Uganda. He has over 10 years experience managing construction projects and ensures that all our buildings meet high standards and offer good value for money. Shirray Knight - Project Administrator Although Australian by birth, Shirray has lived in Uganda for almost 10 years running a safari business. She is responsible for our bank account in Uganda and ensures that all our funds are spent correctly. Nick Coppendale - Member of the team of volunteers. Richard Lebon - Member of the team of volunteers Thomas Williams - Member of the team of volunteers. John Kaigo - Head Builder John leads our team of 12 builders who work for us on a full time basis. The builders are highly skilled and very experienced in school building projects. |
