St. Stephens Nawanyago Primary School

Water is a big problem in Nawanyago village with one bore hole for over 3000 residents.  During the dry season, this quickly ran out of water.  Thanks to the collection money raised at Jeff Bardsley’s funeral, we plan to build a water tank to harvest rainwater from the roof of the 4 classroom block.

Thanks to a large donation by the German Embassy we have been able to build 2 new classrooms, which are about to be completed.  The school now has 6 classrooms, with a total of 947 students and 17 teachers.

Once funds are available we would like to be able to give them hopefully 100 desks to go in the new classrooms, costing approximately £1,500.
