‘Baboushka’ is a musical family show, based on a traditional Russian folk tale. It tells the story of Baboushka, who follows the three kings to find the baby Jesus but arrives too late in Bethlehem and sets off around the world, giving a gift to every child she meets.
Baboushka contains 9 original songs, and plenty of action for a small group of principals, adults’ chorus and children’s chorus. It is a short show, approximately 1 hour 15 minutes in total, and is suitable for performance to families with young children. There is plenty for adults to enjoy too!
It was first performed in December 2007 by a new drama group supported by Tutbury Arts Group. Both performances were sold out, and the show was seen and enjoyed by over 300 people.
