Burlesque Burlesque is a new trend among belly dancers. It's only natural really: dancing, posing, dressing up in sexy and cute costumes - it was inevitable. As a dressmaker, the challenge of burlesque costumes calls to me! If you like vintage style items, but don't like the actual idea of second-hand underwear, maybe I can help. I have original patterns from the 1940s, 50's and 70's for camisoles, cami-knickers, French knickers and petticoats. Have a look and think about having something made especially for you. I also make and alter bridal wear - no, I haven't gone off the point - I mention it only because that most bridal wear at the moment has corset tops and bodices. I have a number of patterns for good-fitting bustiers and corset-style tops. Try out a simple option before you get into the hard-core, full-on, whaleboned, custom-fit corsets. Cheaper too.
Garters - elasticated in various colours £3.75

Taking in, or letting out, for a closer fit, can easily be done at the side seams. It's virtually impossible to alter shop bought lingerie or costume corsets - this is a really easy option.
