Workshops and Demonstrations

As much as I like to dance, I like to talk about it and share it with others.   Belly dancing is fun and sociable and is a great way for women to get together and let their hair down.   I am happy dealing with small or large audiences and particularly enjoy showing the dance to people who have never seen it before, I like busting open all the misconceptions about 'belly dancing'!  I offer:

bulletWorkshops
bulletDemonstrations
bulletFun Sessions and hen nights
bulletTeam-building

Workshops
"Talking about belly-dancing"
A workshop for dancers who have been asked to put on a talk but don't know where to start!  This workshop will help you to structure your talk and get the best out of your performance skills.

"Own that Stage":
A confidence-boosting session for dancers, to feel confident about taking that first step onto a solo stage, offering real and constructive tools.

Beginner's Belly-dance Creative Session
A fun session designed to learn a little about the dance and to 'have a go'.  Suitable for all ages.
Team Building:
This workshop is a creative session that explores confidence and trust levels and offers participants the chance to develop communications skills.  This fun, challenging, learning experience, isn't just about jiggling wobbly bits, it's about mapping, planning, listening, contributing, creating and performing.  It is an ideal workshop for team-building and makes a real change from the usual, muddy, male-oriented options..

Demonstrations

I particularly enjoy these hour-long demonstrations which can look at belly dancing as a whole, or focus in on one part of the dance such as the music, styles, history, pop, classical or folk, for example.  Demonstrations work well for small audiences of 12 to 24, such as a local WI group and can allow for a little audience interaction.  They can also be structured to suit a larger audience, although less easy to engineer, audience participation is not impossible.  Demonstrations are ideal for:
bulletWI's
bulletSchools
bulletOther women's or local interest groups.

Fun Sessions

Fun sessions are designed to show what belly dancing is all about.  It is a fun class that allows you to learn a few basic belly dance moves (not least the iconic 'shimmy') and then use those moves in an upbeat choreography.  Fun sessions are ideal for:

bulletice-breakers
bullethen parties
bulletgirl's days out
bulletWI's and women's groups
