Costume Refurbishment

Is your wardrobe filled with costumes that aren't smart enough to see the light of day?  Have they got missing hooks, zips, beads or trim?  Do you want a new costume but can't afford a full-price replacement?  Take another look at the costumes you have, they have several things going for them:

bulletthey fit (probably)
bulletyou know how they work in a dance
bulletyou already like them.

I am willing to clean, mend or update your old costumes so that you can wear them again or prepare them for sale.

What can you expect?

This is a cleaning and refurbishment service.  I am working on the assumption that your costume fits and will not need alterations.  This way, we can work through the postal system and you do not need to visit Cumbria for fittings (though I do like to have visitors!).

When you have thought about your costume and decide what's GOOD and BAD about it, you send it to me and I decide what can, and cannot be done with it.  Let's face it, some things may never recover from the hard life they have led, but I will do my best.  You set the budget and I do what I can within the budget.

Simple repairs and cleaning will not break the bank, being less than £35.  Mending fiddly beadwork is time-consuming and will push costs up.  Replacing fabric inserts or skirts may not be as expensive as you think.  The highest cost would be to totally re-invent a costume to bring it up to date - but even that is going to be MUCH less than the cost of a brand new costume!

Information:

If you want more information about updating your costumes contact me on rita@williamsonspace.co.uk and I will send you details setting out the options.
