The worst of the thick undergrowth of bramble and laurel covering the mound in 2000 has now been cleared and the Trust restored the walls surrounding the top of the mound in 2006. An investigation of the surface has uncovered some interesting remains and evidence of mediaeval occupation has been found. The next task is to clear the whole area of the Iron Age Hillfort so as to show the defensive banks and ditches. Standing on top of the mound, we marvel at the splendid panoramic views and we are also made aware of the strategic defensive position that Craig Ruperra held throughout the centuries.
