‘Friends of Ruperra’ was set up as a sub-group of the Trust in 1998 with the aim of raising public awareness about the future of Ruperra Castle in the first instance. Then when Coed Craig Ruperra came up for sale in 1999 their fund-raising helped the Trust to buy it.

Membership now stands at 360 and the members provide match funding every

year for the Heritage Lottery management grant which the Trust obtained for the woodland. There is now a small committee which organises the events of the friends and produces merchandise.

The Friends also run the group of volunteers who enjoy working in Coed Ruperra and contributing to the progress of the project.
