My 1st stag
I bought and sold this car in the very late 80's. It was a MkI Stag with original Triumph V8, Manual o/d, painted a metallic blue with a MkI Black Interior and running on Wolfrace Wheels.
The car was never really as good as I expected it to be, while the oil pressure was good the car burnt Oil faster than petrol. There was rust underneath the car and I discovered that the front o/s outrigger was supplied by Mr Isopon. That said I did some serious mileage in it in one year, it being my main car and it only let me down twice, once with a flat tyre and the second time was when the alternator rectifier box fried itself while driving down the M1 one night. I got home but after driving the car on the battery with no output from the alternator for 100 miles it was a struggle.
I sold the car to raise funds to buy a house south of Manchester and saw it a couple of times while living up there. Apparently shortly after I sold it, it sprang a major leak from the fuel tank which was also rotten, a milk cart reversed into the front of the car destroying most of the panels. The last I saw of the car was at the side of the A34 Handforth Road with some serious camber on the rear wheels, I guess that the diff nose had broken.
Where are you now CWK 907K?
