| Scooter (30-04-1988 - 24-12-2005) | ||
| Scooter chose me. When I reached the breeder's house she had two eight-week old puppies in the kitchen. One stared at me, the other rushed forward and began to tug my shoelaces. He became Scooter, greatly loved by all who met him, and greatly missed. I took him home, set him down on the floor, and watched my wife, Carol, stare at him in disbelief and then joy, as he trotted over to her. |

Scooter as a puppy |
||
| Scooter was cheeky, stubborn and the most loving dog you could imagine. He managed all the usual puppy tricks - leave anything on the floor or in reach and he would chew it. This included the furniture, and the carpet. When he tugged this it ran the whole length of the house. We came home from work to find great masses of carpet fibre at the end of bare runs. In the garden he tore up plants, dug holes and chased the birds away - all with great fun and joy. And when you told him off he'd look at you with those big puppy eyes .... |

Relaxing in the garden |
||
| Scooter travelled the length and breadth of Britain with us, from Devon to Scotland, Wales to the Cotswolds, and all places in between. He loved travelling in the car, where he would sit on the parcel shelf and watch the world go by. Then, out we would get, wander around, and back into the car to travel to the next place. Naturally, eating came second only to walks, and he loved to share our food. While he was most particular about which dog treats he would eat, when it came to our food he would eat most things. |

Scooter gave so much more than he ever took. As long as he was with you,
sharing every moment, always being part of the family, he was content
and happy. He lived to over 17 and brought such joy to everyone he met. I still miss him terribly. |
