A little about the boat
The boat is a Quicksilver pilothouse 620 (6.2Mts long) purchased from ABC marine on Anglesey in April 2003. It's Powered by a 90Hp 4 stroke Mercury engine. It has a 4 blade stainless steel propeller and will reach a Top speed of 28Mph on a good day. I must admit the boat is very capable for her size and will take a good sea in her stride, also if you fancy it, you could ski behind her without any trouble. The boat is normally berthed at Swansea marina, which gives good access to the Gower coast and Swansea Bay. On average in the summer, I will travel between 35 to 50 miles in a day. In the winter these distance's go down to about 10 miles. The Cod fishing concentrates mainly in Swansea bay, that is why the travelling is far less in the winter. The fishing in the summer mainly consists of drifting for Bass using live Sandeel's or latex lures or at anchor over a sandbank or rough ground. I have been fishing over some of the Wrecks in the middle of the Bristol channel, but with little success up to date.
