The Wedding Dance

a salsa theatre show co-directed and choreographed by Debra Michaels (taught by Nelson Batista)

At the GREENWICH THEATRE, London                 from 14 - 23 February 2008 prior to a UK tour.

Presented by Nitro, Britain's leading Black Music Theatre company, THE WEDDING DANCE tells a passionate story of love and betrayal, powered by
the infectious rhythms of salsa music and dance - featuring a specially-commissioned score by international salsa composer, Alex Wilson and sensational salsa dance choreographed by Debra Michaels.

THE WEDDING DANCE transports its audience from Havana Cuba to the salsa
clubs of London. It follows the journey of Jose, a brilliant dancer, who
leaves behind his homeland of Cuba to begin a life in London with his new
English bride. Arriving in the UK, Jose turns his talents to teaching the
most passionate dance of them all, the salsa. A serial seducer, he
becomes surrounded by women who want to be with him and men who want to
be like him. When he meets Miranda, a young bride-to-be, he is faced with
an irresistible challenge that proves to be one seduction too far...

The show opened to rave reviews and sell-out performances on tour last
year and returns for a new 9-venue tour this spring, opening at Greenwich
Theatre from 14 - 23 February 2008.
