Annual Report

The vice-President welcomed members to the Meeting. She went on to thank members for their support of the various functions, and thanked those who worked hard to make Club activities a success.

Our juniors have had a successful bowling season coming second in the Heavy Woollen District League. Two of our juniors, Matthew Gill and Robert Wainwright, played at County level. We offer our congratulations to them and to Robert, who won the Arthur Maude Trophy, a prestigious award, not won by anyone in the Wakefield area before. He was also runner up in the Wakefield Merit Trophy.

Eleven teams played for Sandal this year with mixed results. Congratulations go to the 'A' team who came second in the Veterans League. The 'B'  Team in the Workshops Division 4 league who came first, and the 'A' Team in the Workshops Division One League who seem to have swept the board. They were Division One champions, but also won the Dorothy Buckley Shield, The Harold Buckley Shield, and  the Geof Pepper Shield.
 Ian Shuttleworth was Workshops Division One Average Winner. Darren Pitchforth was the Workshops individual Merit Winner, and Darren Pitchforth and Martin Eley were the Workshops merit winners.
