Sandra Kingdon has been designing and dressmaking professionally for 9 years after completing her City & Guilds training in Fashion, Pattern cutting and Embroidery. Since being qualified she has created wedding dresses and carried out alterations for two of the top local bridal retailers(Amelia Classics and Anne Harding) as well as designed and created numerous dresses for private clients. She comes from a long line of dressmakers, her Great Grandmother Minnie (pictured below) was by profession, a dressmaker in the 1830’s and it is rumoured that her Great Aunt Bella was a Court dressmaker. This line extends through her Grandmother and on to her Mother who made her own wedding two piece suit back in the 1950’s.

She set up Ivory Spice in May 2008 to encompass the specialist areas of Bridal wear, Decorative Corsetry and Alterations and to give the business a recognized identity for existing and new clients. The priorities and objectives of the business:

                   * to provide a bespoke design and dressmaking service available to all

                   * to be committed to total customer satisfaction.

                   * to enable clients to choose unique and original designs.

                   * to provide a friendly and welcoming personal service.
