Fr Terry Watson was born in 1938 in
Eastbourne and was educated at Eastbourne Grammar School. In 1961 he graduated
from Jesus College Oxford and gained his Masters degree in 1967. He completed
his theological training at Chichester Theological College. Fr Terry was made
deacon at Chichester Cathedral in 1974, serving his title at Sidley.
Subsequently he served his priestly ministry in the parishes of Woodham
(Guildford diocese), Willesborough (Canterbury diocese), St Michael’s
Maidstone and St James, Clacton-on-Sea (Chelmsford diocese). He retired to
Eastbourne in 2000. Fr Terry is married to Jenny. Since joining the team of
honorary assistant priests at St Saviours, he has taken a particular interest in
the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament and the Guild of All Souls. He has
also contributed to a book called Nineteen New Festivals, translating the Latin
Propers into English.
