The Revd Raymond Woodhams

 

Fr Raymond was born in West Horsley, Surrey in l940. After training and working as an electrical engineer he became a lecturer and subsequently spent l4 years as Head of Electrical Engineering at Mombasa Polytechnic in Kenya on a British Government Aid programme. On return to the U.K. in l987 he worked as a self-employed electrical engineer.

He trained as a Reader and served in the Alfriston Benefice until l998.

 

After training for the Priesthood through STETS (Salisbury) and at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield he was Deaconed in 2001 and served

his title in the parish of St Peter’s, East Blatchington. He was licensed to

St. Saviour’s as an Assistant Curate (NSM) on l8 September 2006.

 

Fr Raymond has a particular interest in the education of children and serves on the Diocesan Board of Education. He is a fundraiser for orphaned children at the Church Army primary school in Nairobi, which he visits regularly.

He is married to Angela and they have three sons and nine granddaughters
