"Rural Science"?  That was apparently a euphemism for basic horticulture and agriculture - how to look after an allotment or keep chickens and farm animals - training for pupils who may work as farm labourers.  Its appearance in a suburban school syllabus was probably a legacy of war-time shortages when families needed to rely on domestically-produced food to supplement their diet.

Educational Cruises

Cruise vessels were: MS Dunera, Nevasa, SS Uganda and Devonia - all owned by the 'British and India Steam Navigation Co.'  (Latterly assimilated into P&O.)
