We
are very keen to welcome cyclists to Lavender Cottage. Although not yet subscribed
to the Cyclists Welcome scheme we have ensured that we meet all the criteria
of the scheme.
We have secure storage for cycles and facilities for washing and/or drying clothing. If you plan to arrive by cycle, rather than bring the cycle with you in your car, you can pre-order your food supplies and we will ensure they are in the cottage on arrival. There is no extra charge for this service (except for your shopping of course), just be sure to ask for it when you book.
The village of Whorlton is situated on the route of the new 150 mile Walney to Wear coast to coast cycle route on the southern section of the Barnard Castle to Bishop Aukland loop.
As well as being on the W2W route there are many local routes for cyclists for varying degrees of fitness and enthusiasm.
