With
a population of around 200 the village is an ideal, tranquil base to explore
the delights of Teesdale. Through traffic in the village is minimal as weight restrictions in force on the bridge preclude goods vehicles from using it. At one end of the green the Bridge Inn provides refreshment for villagers and visitors alike while at the other end of the green is the quaint St. Mary's church holding services on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. |
