The club holds 5 competitions each year:

	Pairs Competition/Best Individual Catch
	Most Species/Best Specimen
	Skate & Tope Competition
	Heaviest Individual Catch Cod/Best Specimen Cod
	Heaviest Individual Catch Plaice/Best Specimen Plaice

Boats coming ashore after a Competition day.

In addition a number of Trophies are fished for over the course of the year:

	Points Trophy
	Junior Points Trophy
	Best Bass
	Best Cod
	Best Flatfish
	Best Conger
	Best Junior Conger
	Whitby Trophy - Best fish from charter boat from any British port

The following will be awarded to the best fish throughout the year if NOT won in the Skate & Tope Competition:

	Best Tope
	Best Skate
