The Fishing

Silecroft gives access to Estuaries and the Irish Sea with fishing over Sand, Rough ground, Reefs and for the more experienced and competent skippers the chance to visit more distant wrecks.

Lugworm  and Peeler crab can be dug/collected locally, while Sandeel can be trawled for on local Sand Bars. Mackerel is also usually plentiful the summer months. For the anglers without bait Hokais and Redgills usually catch Cod and Pollack.

A number of Rocks - Black Leg Rock (below), Scala Fold Style Rock, Selker Rocks & Drigg Rocks - show themselves at low water on big spring tides – So be careful!

One of the larger boats in the club used to visit the more distant marks - a locally built Striker 17.
