Comments:Just checking out your site as im hoping to bring along my son when hes old enough.Started training myself at Houghton sendai 23 years ago with Christine Pullan,
eventually achieving 3rd Dan.I became ladies British kumite Champion in 1995 and was part of the ladies winning kumite team at the World Championships held at Crowtree,Sunderland.
I havent trained now for 13 years but still get the urge!Look forward to meeting you all and hopefully seeing some old faces.

I have just started karate (sho bu kan,,,is this the same as shotokan??)- late June - so my belt is whiter than dash!! and at 51 (but fit) I want to learn fast....dreaming of being an instructor....but it is early days.

Comments:Impressed by the new site - I started my karate career at Sendai
in 1986 under Jeff, Owen, Christine etc and since I left in 1994 and moved
south for work, I have never managed to find a comparable club. Good to
see Sendai still going strong.

Comments:Having been asked to take over Sendai nearly three years ago by
Jeff Barwick, I spoke to John James with a view to him eventually becoming
the Full time instructor at the Club. Work commitments and other clubs where
I teach meant teaching at Sendai full time was not a long term commitment I
could make. Afer careful consideration John said Yes!! the rest is
history, and what a super history it has been. John has made an unqualified
success of Sendai, and I am very proud of him apart from his achievments as
an International Competitor. the new website is excellent, and I love to
watch the club members improving and going from strength to strength. Good
luck Sendai for 2007 and many more years to come
