spine; every few inches dipping the fingers in the combination of oils and massaging these into the body. This should be done regularly throughout the treatment series of Packs,
Each evening, just before sleep put a pinch (that is, between the thumb and forefinger) of plain table salt (dry) on the tongue. Let this dissolve and then swallowed; THEN a drink of water should be taken. Do this once each day, at bedtime.
Refrain from sedatives, or ANY sodas, which have been used to prevent the violent attacks, which have occurred; if these applications are adhered, they should keep down such attacks.
In the diet, no sweets. Have plenty of the vitamins, especially of foods that carry B, B-1, A, C, and D. these are to be found, in plenty of citrus fruit juices, plenty of raw vegetables, such as carrots, spinach, celery, lettuce; these raw, grated very fine, or the juice extracted from same, - not large quantities taken (of the juices) but a little bit each day. No pastries or anything like them. After 5 series of these application further treatment will be recommended
2153-2 F 12 Some changes noted, But little change for the better indicated. Adhesions and lesions were still present through the right area of the upper portion of the abdomen; and incoordination between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic nervous system.
The spasmodic reactions sometimes appear more severe, This is causing greater disturbance to the whole nervous system.narcotics or sedatives apparently are necessary evils; but are needed to allay the severeness of attacks at this particular period.
Cayce noted the treatment was not being followed properly, and cautioned every other day, apply the Castor Oil Packs over the abdominal and caecum area. These should be put on warm, but with plenty of oil; and then apply the electric pad to cause better absorption of it. Keep on for forty to sixty minutes.
Following this when there is the sponging off of the body, with a lukewarm soda water (baking soda or bicarbonate of soda). Massage the abdomen with Peanut Oil, - not too much of this, but sufficient that there may be some absorption, this will the break up of the lesions in this area.
Add general relaxing treatments and osteopathic adjustments along the whole of the cerebrospinal area, from the lower portion of the spine upward, making the adjustments. This is different to the ordinary manner of making adjustments. Use knuckle or finger upon either side of the spine and touch each segment when doing the adjusting.
Prepare a tonic to be given to take the place of a sedative. After the first three or four days, this should enable most of the sedatives to be eliminated - or very little of other sedatives will be necessary after this is begun.
To a gallon measure of Passion Flower with blossom and fruit (preferably dried), add 2 gallons of distilled water. Reduce this by boiling until there are 2 quarts, when strained. To this add 1 pint of Grain Alcohol (90% proof or that strength, at least). Dosage of this would be three tablespoonfuls each day, one after or at each meal.
Cayce still advised against sweets. Have fruits - that is, the natural fruit sweets - or honey with the honeycomb, but not great quantities. Vegetables and vegetable juices should be the principal portion of the diet.
Consistentency and persistentency with the Packs, the massages and adjustments, the tonic and the diet, - should show considerable improvement; and, as the natural result of this balancing, a much better coordination between the physical and mental forces of the body.
No way except close observance may determine as to when the attacks will occur, there should be someone with the body most of the time to indicate when seizures would occur. Then apply a small piece of ice rubbed along the base of the brain, at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical, this will cause an IMMEDIATE reaction; which will stop the attacks
Do any special foods or drinks have a tendency to bring on these attacks? Cayce said, sweets - or carbonated waters.
Also advocated was to keep in the open often
2153-4 F 12
Some general improvements noted. Some applications suggested by cayce have not as yet been administered,
No attacks had been noted and cautioned that the sedatives or narcotics or could influence the reactions between the mental and physical bodies. The lesions that cause attacks are in the lacteal duct and those areas about the assimilating system and the upper portion of jejunum and caecum.
Castor Oil Packs. They will break up lesions, as no other administrations will. The best time to take these is the evening. Keep these up until this coldness AND the lesion in the right side is removed, - which is just a hand's breadth below the point of the rib, or over that area of the ducts. The adhesions in these ducts here were produced by an excess temperature, which the body suffered at a time when there was too SUDDEN dropping of the temperature, insufficient water, or manipulations, or activity, through the alimentary canal.
How long should the Mayblossom Bitters be taken? (A) Take periodically. Take regularly for fifteen days, and then leave off for five to ten days; then take again. Do this consistently until the entire total amount had been used.
(Q) Would Jerusalem Artichoke Flour take the place of the sweets she craves? This would produce a violent reaction upon the pancrean system, and to the kidneys. The sweets should be honey and the Once a day, early morning, take a teaspoonful of honey (teaspoonful, not a tablespoonful), and there will not be the desire so much for other sweets.
No fried foods was also mentioned
(Q) Should she be protected from excitement, or allowed to meet it normally? As, the lesions are removed and coordination established in the cerebrospinal system, She should be allowed.
(Q) Could dry ice be used in any form to keep a cold pack handy for use at any time at base of brain, as last Reading suggested? (A) Ice in ANY form may be used to push off or stop an attack.
Has her stay so far at Va. Beach retarded the attacks? YES the sands and the sun upon them are most beneficial to the general nervous system of ANYONE;
2153-5 F 12
Conditions appeared to be very disturbing, these were reflexes and reactions produced from the attempts at making adjustments for the eliminating of the disturbance.
Do at least two thorough relaxations with the Castor Oil Packs, through the caecum and lacteal duct area. break up the lesions in this area; as well as making adjustments from the 9th dorsal downward; coordinating those upward - with those made in the lower area.
Q) Two days of the Oil Packs? (A) Two series. At least two of an hour apiece. If the manipulations are given every other day, then it requires. The purpose is to have the body under the effect of this relaxation from the heavy Castor Oil Packs over the area indicated, WHEN the treatments are given, see?
Continue the bit of salt at bedtime.
The effect is of the Mayblossom Bitters, (A) The passion flower effect is upon the sympathetic nervous system. It is to remove the congestions that are produced in the attacks of incoordination at the base of the brain, through the flexus.
(Q) What causes and what should be done to correct, excess growth of hair on legs and arms? Is this from a glandular condition? (A) Cayce said A glandular condition, combined with a disturbance in the general circulation.
Do not use anything other than too the thyroids to make better activity there; this done better by manipulation than by drugs.
2153-6 F 13 Improvements in the general physical forces of the body. Adhesions still were found in those areas about the lacteals because of certain pressures brought about in the system - these prevent the coordination between sympathetic and cerebrospinal system; causing the problems. The Castor Oil Packs are gradually working, and will if adhered to, the tension in the areas Indicated will be adjusted. Also the osteopathic adjustments and manipulations are to coordinate this new activity of the system in such a manner
Those properties in the passionflower compound have had definite effect upon the body. The reaction of these is to the pyloric and the activities of the glandular systems within the functioning of the lacteals, about the gall duct area itself. These have apparently produced greater spasmodic frequency. There was a real problem with a reaction from the sedatives, which had been given. The passionflower is now to be left off entirely - unless such conditions arise again cayce said they had done their job. Recommended - (Osteopathic) adjustments to those centers from which those areas receive their impulse, to assist this activity in assuming normal reflexes under all areas or conditions.
Special adjustments are needed of specific natures and characters to regulate those activities of the eliminating system as related to the Periods, or the genital activities of the bodily forces themselves.
Before the osteopathic adjustments are to be made, apply the Castor Oil Packs over the liver, the lacteal duct, the caecum area; letting these extend a little farther over the cerebrospinal area - toward the back. While the body should lie upon the back, or the right side, these should extend almost AROUND the body, -the Packs, - so that the whole area to be relaxed by the osteopathic adjustments may be so relaxed which will be more easily adjusted. These should be done more with the body lying upon its face, hands above the head, - the area in the dorsals, from the 4th to the 9th; first one side, then the other, of the cerebrospinal system. Not so much adjustments in this area as stimulating the activities of the body itself.
Then, with the body upon the left side, with the limb drawn high up, treat the 7th and 8th dorsal upon the LEFT side, with the left hand of the manipulator keeping in touch with those reactions in the right area about the lacteal duct - or that below the rib and to that area of the gall duct center. This will indicate to the practitioner the taut areas that are to gradually be broken up.
After this adjustment or relaxing - with the body upon the back, the feet drawn up, - gently knead that area about the liver, the gall duct, and extending even to the caecum; gradually breaking up this tension that has been seen or felt in this area by the movements from the left side of the body. After THIS, then have the body on the RIGHT side, with the right limb drawn high, hands above the head and treat those areas from the lumbar to the 7th dorsal, especially on the right and left areas of the cerebrospinal system, for the activity of the coordinating of the genital system to the activity created in the lacteal duct AND caecum area.
Keep to the diet, be mindful to the attitudes, keeping helpful people to bring cheery, hopeful, expectant activities.
Each evening a pinch of salt - iodized salt; this is given before retiring, or at the time of retiring. This will add the necessary elements for glandular activity. Not too much, but a pinch between finger and thumb. If the body asks for more, give it, - but not enough to cause a thinning of the blood.
