prostate, and colorectal cancers combined. An early diagnosis can increase five-year survival by 85%. Much progress has been made in treating lung cancer with surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. The survival rate is 49% for cases detected when the disease is still localized. |
2.Squamonus or epidermoid carcinoma this is located in the bronchial tubes. |
3.Large cell carcinoma, this is found near the surface, |
Small cell lung cancer |
This is highly associated with smoking and grows and spreads quickly. |
One in six of people who get lung cancer have never smoked. |
According to some sources genetic factors may play a part in the disposition of getting lung cancer. |
The environmental department in the USA estimates that 3000 people die from second hand smoke. |
Radon, which is a gas, has also been shown to be carcinogenic, there are kits available to measure just how much you are exposed to in your home. |
75 % of people diagnosed with cancer have the small cell variety. |
Symptoms |
A persistent cough which does not go away or difficult breathing, coughing, fatigue chest shoulder or upperback pain, reappeared pneumonia or bronchitis.blood coughed up in the sputum hoarseness wheezing, swelling of the face. Routine x-rays have found quite a lot of cases. |
Conventional treatment |
First line of defense seems to be chemotherapy and if caught at stage 1 there appears to be a 60-70 % survival rate after 5 yr. |
Radiation therapy which directs a beam of high-energy particles at the tumor is used to reduce the size and to try and halt the spread of the cancer cells. The actual amount of radiation varies greatly depending on size, location etc. Side effects from this treatment are the fact that the radiation can damage good cells although it appears that this is minimized by using 3d imaging techniques. Fatigue, skin irritation and sore throat are some of the possible side effects. Difficulty in swallowing as a side effect may mean that you will be eating liquid foods. Fibrous tissue also forms which can cause pain in breathing. About 10% of people suffer from fever cough and shortness of breath following radiation treatment. Loss of hair in the treated area, which may not grow back, is another side effect. |
Chemotherapy drugs seem to work by killing all cells that are dividing rapidly including normal ones. Side effects to this treatment are wide and serious because the drugs attack normal cells such as skin cells, blood cells, cells of the lining of the intestine, the immune system is suppressed which means there is a much greater risk of infection, anemia can also develop because of the drugs ability to attack good cells. This causes fatigue and stress. Other side effects are blood clots, confusion and loss of mental clarity, constipation diarrhea fatigue, hair loss, anemia, neutrapenia, nausea vomiting. |

For the millions of people who already have cancer? A person who was dying. The doctors had all come to the same conclusion regarding the case: more and stronger painkillers for the remaining few months of his life. His cancer was not the kind they could chop out or burn out with radium. For him it was more morphine.” Some choice! But there are places in the world where NOBODY ever gets Cancer. Convinced that diet is a factor, he looked to see what they all had in common. He read everything he could find relating diet to cancer, and found out about a chemical substance found in almonds, apricot seeds, lima beans, and many other foods. Isolated by Dr. E. T. Krebs at the same time Hoffman discovered LSD, the substance was called amygdalen [amygdalin]. It is now being marketed (but NOT in the U.S.) under the name Laetrile, and is also known as vitamin B-17. Apparently To prevent cancer, we need only include in our diet those foods rich in B-17, PROVIDED our diet is balanced in other respects. |

Cayce treatment |
Attributed to Edgar Cayce is the claim, eat two or three almonds a day and you won't get cancer. Underlying this is the basic fact that cancer, like most bodily malfunctions, is the result of a dietary deficiency in certain natural substances. Supply these substances, and the adverse condition won't develop. |
Cayce dealt with 7 people who had lung cancer .One had swallowed a brass pin which was producing serious infectious forces, this patient was very nearly dead when a reading was requested, however following the cayce information significant improvements were made. |
