Acute attacks of asthma were controlled in various ways although it is implied that when other forms of therapy have begun the attacks would become less severe. Calcidin 1-5 drops in 5 ounces of warm water sipped every 15-20 mins is one suggestion. Atomidine 6 drops in a tablespoon of water sipped entirely once every 6 hrs is another. Special inhalants were also advisee such as to 4 oz of grain alcohol add oil of eucalyptus 20 mins, rectified oil of turpentine 5mns,compund tincture of benzoin 15mns. Apple brandy fumes from a charred oak keg were also recommended this was prepared by taking either a 1- 2 gall charred oak keg and filling it with pure apple brandy just half a gallon. Drill 2 holes in the top and breathe the fumes twice a day, the keg should be placed near a heat appliance of some kind to enable the fumes to come off readily. This acts as a purifier of tissue but also allows the tissue to be revivified.
To one female adult 85-1 who had an injury a lesion was found in the area of the 456 dorsal which was triggering off sympathetic ganglia causing the asthma. Corrections with deep manipulation applying at the same time mercury lamps which would relax the congested part of her and also bring about better conditions within the nerves and tissue themselves. Little sweets at all were to be eaten Also advised was 5-10grain tablets of calcidin dissolved before eaten 2 a day preferably in the evenings when the congestion shows or spasmodic conditions occur take these up to the time when the congestion has been removed. Persistance was advised. AReport back from the patient confirmed the injury at the top of the spine, which was the original cause. 90-1 male adult General advice was to avoid sweets entirely, as these would cause irritation and also avoid tea and coffee or any of that nature 36-42 osteopathic adjustments applying heat at the same time. Calcidin recommended.
227-1 male adult This patient had complications with his heart Osteopathic adjustments and calcidin were recommended.
304-2male 68 Spinal Lesions and scars were the seat of the trouble.
527-1 male adult Spinal Lesions affecting the 3 and 4 dorsal, which were causing the problems, triggers for the asthma attacks were various, but the underlying cause were the lesions. Symptoms were various –mucous, problems with the nasal cavity, the hearing the eye soreness of the soft tissue of the face, burning at times of the bronchi, even atmospheric pressure changes produced some irritation these were reflex actions coming from the action of the lesions. Cayce said despite the severity of the problem that with persistence all of these conditions would be overcome Osteopathic adjustments were recommended and diet changes, an inhalant, and atomidine. Improvements were made in direct accordance with complying with the suggestions as given by cayce it seems.
595-1Male adult A Germ acting with a sublaxation [spinal problem] was at the seat of the problem. Osteopathic adjustments, diet changes, an inhalant, calcidin, apple brandy mixed with rock candy drunk very slowly no more than two teaspoons. A course of Atomidine and a warning that the person should not get overheated or cold or even cold feet while the applications were being made.
656-1male teenager This was an interesting case in that cayce said that there were various effects, which could be seen in varying atmospheric pressure changes. Various ganglia were being affected by the changes. A sublaxation spinal problem was sited as the problem with mention of various and numerous triggers, which affected the body directly. A move to a more stable place was recommended like Carolina, New Mexico, Arizona where there was more sunshine and less atmospheric pressure changes. Osteopathic adjustments, diet changes, calcidin and onion packs which were to be placed over the right lung and caecum were all recommended. Again with consistence cayce said that results would be forthcoming.
