Summary
When Daniel Jackson views the video footage sent back by the MALP Probe on
P3R-272 he wonders if the symbols on the video might be connected to one of the four
Alien races discovered earlier on Earnest's' planet in Torment of Tantalus
Whilst on the planet, Jack's head is momentarily caught by an Alien
device. At first there appears to be no side effects, but then he begins to use strange
words.
Sam leads a team to another planet which may hold the key to the mystery,
but she is stranded with a broken DHD. Jack amazingly produces an extremely detailed
diagram of the workings of the DHD and Sam is able to fix it and return home.
But Jack's brain is feeling the strain of all the knowledge and he is
losing the ability to communicate expect in the alien language, using Daniel as a
translator.
Jack inputs a whole new set of gate addresses into the SGC computer, ones
that did not appear on the cartouche at Abydos. Daniel theorises that the knowledge in
Jack's brain is from the ancients who were the builders of the Stargates.
Gathering parts from all over the base, including something from Teal'c's
staff weapon Jack builds a gadget which boosts the power of the gate. As the SGC computer
dials the co-ordinates input by Jack the eighth chevron is used.
Jack enters the wormhole and is sent to the Asguard home world there the
knowledge is removed and he learns of the alliance of the four great ancient races, The
Nox, The Asguard, The Furlings and The Ancients, the human race is on it's way to becoming
the fifth one.
