| ShadesOf have been writing and playing original material in a duo format since 2002. The music is varied and difficult to label, but influences include Deep Purple, Genesis, Yes, Rush and Pink Floyd.
ShadesOf were formed by Drummer Bruce Levick and Guitarist/Vocalist Doug Levick, following time spent in the Glasgow based bands Eliot Vey, Exoreon and Victorian Kitchen. Since August 2005, Bruce and Doug have been rehearsing with Alan Weston (Keyboards & vocals) and Gordon Smith (Bass Guitar). The musical input of the two new(ish) guys has been excellent and now as a four piece, ShadesOf are writing new original material and bringing in some classic cover versions from the prog rock vaults. ShadesOf are "gig ready" and a first show at Opium, Edinburgh in March 2006, was a great success. In addition to the live dates, ShadesOf have added 3 new tracks to the download page which are also available on CD Quality EP with original artwork, in a full colour jacket cover.
