ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

When was it started? The Association was officially formed in 1993 to serve Lhasa Apso enthusiasts in the Wales and South West of England area. 76 Founder members paid £8 each as subscription to cover 1993 and 1994 and its' first Exemption dog show was held.
What does the Association do? During 1994 the Association held a seminar and another Exemption dog show, both events being held at at Whitminster village hall.
In July 1995 the first Open show was held. In November a seminar was held at Usk. The Welfare fund that was formed for helping with rescue dogs was called upon to assist dogs in need.
1996 saw the Association holding two Open shows for the first time.
The Association currently holds two Kennel Club licensed Open shows each year, normally in March and November, at Stonehouse near Stroud, which is easily accessible from the M5.

From 2007 the Association has been granted a licence to hold a Championship show.

The Association also raises money for the Lhasa Apso Breed Council PRA funds.

How can I join? Please read the Rules and Code of Ethics firstly, and then you may apply for membership on an Application form. You will need to be proposed and seconded by existing members. If you do not know anyone please write to the Secretary who may be able to advise you.
Membership subscriptions from 1st January to 31st December are:
£6 Single membership
£8 Joint Membership
£3.5 Junior Membership
£8 Europe, £9 Overseas Membership

These feature our Association's emblem of an Apso head, as pictured on the front cover of this schedule. They will be on sale at the show but can only be ordered from the Hon. Secretary by post. In which case please be kind enough to enclose a postage stamp, or include second class stamp on your cheque or postal order
