"Disney" at 18 months

Disney as a baby "Disney" at 6 months

"Disney" was born in Limerick, Ireland on 29th March 1997. She was bred by Florence Fahey and Father Joe Shire. We hadn't planned to have another dog, let alone a Lhasa, but she was destined to join us. Always cheerful and full of fun she is a little "Riverdancer".

"Disney" started her successful show career by being Best Puppy in Show at the Lhasa Apso Association of Wales and South West at the tender age of 6 months and 6 days. She was also Best Puppy in Show at Chepstow Open show. She has a Green Star Major and two Reserve Green Stars to her credit.

At championship shows she qualified for Crufts several times. Regrettably she was unable to go to Crufts 1999 as she was not back to her best following the birth of her first litter of puppies born December 1998. They were named Shardlow Tickle the Ivories - "Yetti", Shardlow Kiss the Bride - "Mango", Shardlow Feet of Flames - "Bessie", and of course not forgetting Shardlow Hakuna Matata - "Buzz" who remained with us.

Pictured below is "Disney" with "Taylor" who visited us for a while.

"Disney" was mated again to Ch Kutani Soldier Soldier. Puppies were born 2nd June 2000. This was a repeat mating of her first litter that produced Shardlow Hakuna Matata.
From this litter Shardlow Born to be Wild (Harley) went to Norway to Kurt Espeland and Shardlow Stand and Deliver to Pawprints (Turpin) is owned by Margaret Springett.

"Disney" did produce a third litter although she was taken very unwell and we almost lost her. Her pups were handreared and only two survived, Shardlow Tiger Lily ("Lily") and Shardlow Tiggerific ("Tigger"). Sadly "Disney" had to be spayed so we never did manage to get a black and white puppy from her. "Disney" now keeps a watchful eye on her son "Buzz" and on all the other house-hold dogs. She can always be relied on to look after anyone in the household who is feeling unwell.

"Disney" is a demon with socks - the fresher their exit from your foot the better!

Visitors always ask who is the puppy - she is eternally young at heart.
