29 OCTOBER 1756 GEORGE THAIN [SIC] in Portknockies and CHRISTIAN WISEMAN in the Parish of Gamrie were matrimonially contracted, consigned Pledges for Performance abstinence & regular procedure & after orderly Proclamation were married November 15th. [Cullen OPR Vol.3 p.217]. [There was no George Thain in Portknockie. The index has Mair & Wothman but later baptismal records make it clear that George Mair married Christian Wiseman]. [The session clerk was seemingly not having a good day].

29 OCTOBER 1757 ALEXR WOOD in Portknockies and ANNA RUNCIE in Cullen were contracted, consigned Pledges for Performance abstinence & regular procedure & after orderly Proclamation were married 17 November. [Cullen OPR Vol.3 p.217].

3 FEBRUARY 1759 JAMES GAT & MARGARET MAIR both in Portknockies, were contracted, consigned Pledges for Performance abstinence & regular procedure & after orderly Proclamation were married the 22d. [Cullen OPR Vol.3 p.218].

3 MARCH 1759 WILLIAM MAIR in Portknockies & HELEN WATSON in Seatown, were contracted, consigned Pledges for Performance abstinence & regular procedure & after orderly Proclamation were married the 29th. [Cullen OPR Vol.3 p.218].

19 JANUARY 1760 WILLIAM MAIR & HELLEN PIRIE both in Portknockies in the parish of Rathvan [sic] were contracted in order to marriage consigned pledges for performance and regular procedure, and after proclamations were married the 4 of Febry. [Cullen OPR Vol.3 p.219].

[NB Marriage records were very few and irregular between 1764 and 1770, and could explain why the marriage between Alex Pirie and Margaret Slater does not appear.]
