Margaret and Richard's Kitchen Project
The Kitchen Project
By the web rhymer with apologies to J. Milton Hayes
There's a nice apartment building
Sits in Albany's fair town,
And the folk there think it really is quite fine;
So they won't be moving out,
Their minds made up? No doubt!
But the kitchen's ear-marked for a new design.
'Er the project's underway,
Needing some place else to stay...
So its back down mem'ry lane and fond old haunts,
Monterey and Café Med,
"Gourmet Ghetto" where they fed,
In their second-hand Toyota off on jaunts.
Their old kitchen is no more,
With McCutcheon to the fore
Mcbuild.com demolished sure and swift;
Save doors and floor which stayed,
Protective plastic laid,
While the Viking stove as well avoids the rift.

Some weeks have now gone past,
And they're getting there at last,
Now that plumbing and electrics are installed;
Paintwork schedule is on time,
And the floor has had its prime,
But for Mingus its "no-go" and he's appalled.
Many ups and downs they've had,
Doors for cabinets were bad,
And the freezer's making ice atop the door;
The Viking's rattling still,
While the lights don't fit the bill,
But dishwasher sink and faucet please them more!
Now layout's warming to them
They consider it a gem,
Though much cooking's not been done upon the stove...
Off kilter it would seem,
Though work-island's just a dream.
You both deserve a "well done", yes by Jove!
