There wir ower mony Cowies lived in Buckie,
In the Catbow n' the Yardie as weel.
In genealogy ye need tae be lucky,
Or faimly trees jist winna be real.
But the tee-names come in fine 'n handy,
In helpin' tae sort oot fa's fa,
There's Bibies n' Bullens n' Captains
An' Carrots....wi a Cock Carrot n' a'
There's Codlins n' Collins, wir they nae the same?
While Cornals n' Coups finish off a' the C's.
Deidles, Dodles n' Dods sine Dougalls they name,
Dowies, Dozies, n' Duncans end a' the D's
