Whaur are ye noo, Aul Weelim Pum?
That hid Ned Bullen for a chum.
Wi' Bosun - Cockie - Costie - Shakes,
We eest tae play at cairds for maiks
Or wilks or spunks, gin times were hard,
Or at the bools, we'd hae a roll,
Or tak a taikie up the Toll,
Or tae the Iron Wallie wanner,
Or roon the Target hae a danner
Files tae Rochomie, up the line -
It's jungle noo, but that's lang syne.
Whaur are ye noo, Auld Willie Rosie?
Pete Curl - Beel Doddam - Christie - Dosie -
Dowps - Fling - Bo - Cowpie - Codlin Dodie,
That gaed deck han' wi Big Jeems Bodie?
Their Zulu wis the "Heerin' Queen" -
Strypie wis cook - that's nae yestreen!
Whaur are ye noo, Jeems Alex Jocky?
Yir broo wis burnt broon as a clocky;
Dod Deedle - Bowlie - Bodger - Con,
Jeek Sodger - Smacker - Dumpy John?
As loons wi' stumpicks we wid rin,
Or girds, or taps, or kick the tin.
For skippin' quines, we'd turn the ropie,
Or gaether lemmies for their shoppie.
They lived their lives, they've come an' gane,
An' I am left here on my lane;
Bit up there, there's a Grand Boat Yaird,
An' some day gin it please the Laird,
The freens I kent will gaither roon
Tae welcome hame a Buckie Loon.
