Ballads of Robin Hood

The Greenwood Tree

Sung by the outlaws
        Will you come with me
        To the greenwood tree,
We're the men of Robin Hood.
        You'll be fancy free
        'Neath the greenwood tree
Like the birds in green Sherwood.
        The Sheriff's men
        Will come again
To catch us if they could.
        But our hearts roam free
        'Neath the greenwood tree,
We're the men of Robin Hood.
        We are brothers true
        With our bows of yew
Which we use to hunt the deer.
        We put wrong to right
        In our daily fight
There is no one that we fear.
        The Sheriff's men
        Will come again
To catch us if they could.
        But our hearts roam free
        'Neath the greenwood tree,
We're the men of Robin Hood.
