Antarctic experience for Irish Young Scientists

Antarctic Adventurers are off to Ireland in the New Year to take part in the Young Scientists of the Year competition in Dublin.

The prestigious event has 500 schools from across Ireland competing to impress the judges with their scientific projects at the RDS exhibition centre in Dublin.

But its not all work and Antarctic Adventurers will be part of a polar section designed to stimulate school children's interest in the region. Also taking part will be a party from the British Antarctic Survey to show the modern equipment, food and clothing - while Antarctic Adventurers will display similar items from the historic period of polar exploration. There will also be a 40 feet long refrigerated trailer to give the students an idea of real polar conditions.
