English
Schools Champion - 8th October 2006
Franki retained her individual female title at the English Schools Championships this
weekend, and the Lady Eleanor Holles team managed a very respectable 3rd overall despite
strong opposition from a number of other teams. All England Championships success - 2nd September 2006
After summer training on snow out in Saas Fee, Franki made another visit to Hemel dry
slope for only her second dry slope race of the season, and was rewarded with a Silver
medal, behind local Hemel girl Jayme Baggio. The fastest on the second run, Franki was
clearly beginning to get back into form by the end of the day and on Sunday she helped
fellow Wycombe team mates Paul & Marc Telling and Lloyd Papantoniou to successfully
defend the club team title in the dual slalom.
Volkl renew their sponsorship -
22nd May 2006
Volkl have confirmed that they will be sponsoring Franki again this season. Franki was
very happy to be skiing on Volkl skis last season and is looking forward to another
successful season as part of the Volkl Team in 2006/2007. Being able to afford the right
skis will make a huge difference to Franki as she competes and trains throughout the next
12 months. A big THANK YOU to all at Mastco for their continued support.
England A Team place for Franki - 5th May 2006
Franki has been selected for the England A team for the 2006/2007 Season.
Hemel Grand Prix - 21st May 2006
Having completed her first race, Franki had renewed confidence for the Grand Prix on
Sunday. Although she was not happy with either of her runs, Franki skied a strong race.
Finishing in first due to the unusual mistakes by Jayme Baggio and Jo Ryding, (leaders
after the first run). Giving her her first Grand Prix win.
Hemel Club National - 20th May 2006
After saying that she would not participate in many dry
slope races, Franki could not resist racing at what is now her home slope - Hemel. After
only one or two training sessions in the last 6 months, Franki was a bit shaky,
(especially since at one of those sessions she threw herself very impressively down this
very slope.) However after a strong first run she began to gain confidence, finishing in
second place. As always Franki was not happy, however many were just relieved that she
stayed on her feet! |
