Attacking the BSR GS
(January) |
British Championships - 14th April 2006
Franki achieved her best Giant Slalom result so far, coming 5th overall and 2nd JN1 in the
British GS, scoring 90 FIS points. Earlier in the week Franki also scored a GS result just
over 100 points in a tough GS at the Scottish Championships in Courcheval.English Championships - 4th April 2006
The end of season races have got off to a good
start for Franki with a win in the JN1 Giant Slalom at the English Championships (2nd
International JN1). Franki was 2nd English overall and then went on to a 5th place overall
in the English Slalom.
Top 20 finish in Italy - 4th
february 2006
Today Franki achieved her first top 20 in a European FIS race whilst competing in Saint
Remy in Italy in the GS. Typically, Franki was not totally satisfied with her performance
but it was a tough course that saw many skiers coming out.
LEH Top School at British
Schoolgirls - 31st
January 2006
Franki, along with fellow school school team mates Lois Parmenter and Kirsty Dixon, once
again proved their superiority on the ski slopes by not only achieving a clean sweep
of the Schools trophies at the British Schoolgirls, but were placed 3rd team overall
behind Sandown Park and Kandahar. In a separate, nail biting parallel slalom competition,
involving both club teams and British school teams, the girls became only the 4th school
team to win in the 30 year history of the competition.
Although she was no match for older fellow England team mate
Jo Ryding, Franki was comfortably 2nd in the individual Slalom rankings, securing an
individual silver in the combined as well despite a costly error in the GS that had seen
her finish 7th in that race.
Top 20 British Slalom
ranking for Franki - 15th
January 2006
The new FIS points list is out and Franki has gone straight into the top 20 British female
Slalom ranking with 96.42 points. She is also close to her initial end of season GS goal
with points just over 110, but she has now set her sights on 80 points. Franki is
currently at home for a couple of weeks to celebate a late family Christmas, but will be
returning to France next week to compete in the British Schoolgirls Races. After that she
will be competing in a FIS Super G in Megeve before returning to Chamonix to train at the British Ski Academy.
Good Start to the Snow Season - 5th
January 2006
The Snow Season, and Franki's first in FIS competitions, has got off to a good start with
some excellent results. However despite already coming close to her end of season goal of
100 FIS points, Franki was not totally satisfied with her races as she felt that she was
making too many mistakes, especially on her first runs. Her second run times have shown
that there is certainly potential to get even better results, and she is now setting her
sights on getting her points down towards 80 by the end of the season
