The Paddies

THE PADDIES

‘The Paddies’ are a group of young musicians from Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf, hopefully soon to become Sleaford’s twin town in Germany.
‘The Paddies’ is a 7-piece band consisting of Friedrich Sauer (vocals and acoustic guitar), Christoph Petersen (fiddle and mandolin), Matthias Wegen (accordion), Robert Bruhn (bass guitar), Oliver Haller (drums), Steven Rohr (electric guitar) and Anke Kalb (fiddle and tin whistle)
Unexpectedly for a German band, they play Irish folk, inspired by bands such as Flogging Molly, Fiddlers Green, The Dubliners and The Pogues.
Much of their current repertoire consists of covers of Flogging Molly songs but they are venturing into their own compositions. So, if your tastes include Irish folk with a taste of rock, you should enjoy what ‘The Paddies’ have to offer at The Reading Room, Ewerby on Saturday 9 May at 7 30.
