On the week commencing 18th July one cadet from 153 (Slough) Squadron Air Training Corps was very lucky to have the chance to take a parachute jump from an Islander aircraft from RAF Weston-on-the-green.
Cadet Flight Sergeant Jason Fletcher, 18, from Slough, has been an air cadet for five years. He regards this opportunity as the pinnacle of his cadet career. He won out over competition from the rest of Oxfordshire and Berkshire to obtain the only place allocated to Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
Flight Sergeant Fletcher took one static line jump following several days of intensive training.
He said that the experience was "wonderful: like nothing I have ever done in my life." Having immensely enjoyed his first jump Flight Sergeant Fletcher hopes to have the chance to take further jumps in the future. |
