From the 30th July to 6th August nine cadets from 153 (Slough) Sqn Air Training Corps were lucky to be among a group of Air Cadets on an ATC summer camp at RAF Marham in Norfolk.
The cadets took part in a huge number activities ranging from flying to shooting to a confidence course that included obstacles such as an 11ft wall. Cadets also visited XIII Sqn RAF which flies the Tornado GR4/4a and 39 (1 Photo Reconnaissance Unit) Sqn flying the Canberra PR9. Other activities on the week long camp included bowling and Go Carting.
The week long camp cost a grand total of £30, which included transport, accommodation, three cooked meals a day and much more.
Cadet Letsome from Slough won the award for best cadet on the camp and received a trophy made from a disarmed starter cartridge for the training version of the Canberra.
All the cadets enjoyed the camp greatly and were sad that they had to leave at the end of their week. Flt Lt Johnson, of 153 (Slough) Sqn, the Camp Commandant said that out of the 21 Annual camps he has attended, both as cadet and staff, this year's camp at RAF Marham was the most enjoyable.
