Ashantiwaugh - Crime Act - Black Solidarity - 1986

Why it took nearly a decade for Ashantiwaugh to come forward with his debut album is one of the music's many puzzles. Ever since mighty songs like 'I Love Jah So' for the wonderfully named producer 'Stepping King Miguel' people have wanted an LP. Now we have one - 'Crime Act'. Which is a solid collection of songs approached from a Sugar Minott angle. The sleeve names Dennis Brown as an influence. Influences however are not as important as the ability to write and sing a good song. And Ashantiwaugh has this gift.
