In the early eighties when this album was released, it sounded out of place in the era of the Dance Hall style. It didn't really sound like a roots album either. What it was and still is, is a recreation of roots music. Ten years after the style was first heard in Jamaica. Recorded in Los Angeles at a small home studio the sound that A.Doeman gets is very impressive. In places like Studio One (some nice Studio 1 rhythms here)and sometimes Wackies. Lyrically and vocally it's well dread.
