|Echodelic Sound - DVD|
Its always good to see a good doctumentary on any subject. When it comes to reggae - you only have a small selection to choose from. Add this one to the list!!!! Its a great insight of the enduring style of the eighties - dancehall style. All the great are here - Briggy, Nancy, Nancy, Ranking Joe, U.Roy, Welton Irie, Triston Palma, Edi Fitzroy and Ranking Joe, Sugar Minott. Not forgetting Tippa Lee who alongside the one called Rappa Robert made on the great tunes of the ragga era. 'Nah Trouble We' for Redman. A magnificent bassline that Willy Williams picked up on for his version of the the rhythm. Was hoping to see Tippa do the tune live, but for that I suppose you need Rappa Robert. Still it was great to see him, and so many other making comments and making sense of the dancehall scene.
It was also good to see the owners and patrons of 'The Dub Club' - they all niced the DVD in fine style. These places dotted all over the world are the very life blood of the music. They keep the vibes alive. Congratulations to all concerned you have done great works. Also included in the package is a CD featuring a lot of the people on the DVD There are some good songs here, and is a nice bonus to great CD.
