We thought you may like to
get to know the Agility Competition Dogs at the
club, then you may recognise them if you see them at shows. We have
broken them down into competition levels for ease. Why not link to
the Agility Performance Tables Page to see which of them are doing
well during 2003and 2004.

| Dare |
Altricia Wishing Silver
at Borderstorm |
Lisa Adamson |
Border Collie |
Went senior in her first year of competition (2002)
and advanced in 2003. Typical mad merle, but very cuddly. She
took some time out in 2002 and 2003
to raise a family and has come back faster then before. |
| Fizz |
Grimly Fiendish |
Lisa Adamson |
Working Sheepdog |
Fizz went advanced in 1997, aged 3. Small and agile,
she prefers tight twisty courses. She has one Reserve CC, and
has competed at Crufts. Fizz is now in semi retirement. |
| Spice |
Shipelle Spice of Life |
Karen Marriott |
Border Collie |
Spice went advanced in 1999. She has had one litter of
pups. Spice enjoys tricky but spread out courses, and her new
slimline figure has resulted in extra speed and enthusiassm. |

| Cruise |
Woodsorrel Cruise Control at Borderstorm |
Lisa Adamson |
Border Collie |
Cruise has only just started competing, but is showing
potential. He is fast and frantic with very fast contacts, but
his over enthusiasm and Lisa's handling usually result in a fault or
two! Cruise has two novice wins and an
Intermediate. |
| Flynn |
Sherebridge Envoy |
Bob Sharp |
Border Collie |
Went Senior within 4
months of outdoor competition realising the potential we all knew he
had, having 4 outright wins and 3 second places. Since then has
decided see saws are for leaping off which has precluded him from
any places in Senior. Has adapted well to the rest of the
challenges associated with the step up and will expect places next
Spring. All winter agility comps will be used as practice so expect
to see him held on his contacts for a while |
| Gemma |
Tri Colour Gem |
Helen Murphy |
Working Sheepdog |
Still needs 4 wins for advanced, but getting very
close, with numerous 2nd places. Helen is a junior handler who went
senior at the end of 2001. Gemma regularly competes at Crufts. |
| Maddy |
Wingeared Reynard |
Hannah Cook |
Working Sheepdog |
Maddy progessed to Senior within a year of competing, taking
part in a few finals on the way, coming 3rd in the CSJ. She is
not a fast, powerful dog (due to her size, although I'm sure her
ears must help a little), but she's eager to please and a
pleasure to run.

| Sally |
Long Tall Sally |
Marilyn Murphy |
Working Sheepdog |
Sally had an excellent year in Starters during
2002 winning the Agility Eye tables for Northern Dogs. Marilyn
is now working hard on speeding up Sallys contacts and keeping her
lower over jumps. She won her first Novice Class in 2003 and got the
elusive 2nd win in 2005 |
| Scooby |
My Mate Minstral |
Richard Blanchard |
X |
Scooby went senior in the summer of 2004, and is
certainly a super quick little dog with fast running contacts.
Seniors here we come |

| Aggy |
Charlie's Angel |
Jill Oliver |
WSD |
At 3 years old, Aggy continues to
surprise me. She won out of Starters Agility at Easington
much to my amazement (I thought I would be beaten by a fast
collie)! She continues to improve and I look forward to
Intermediate with interest.
|
| Ash |
Coltriever
Christie |
Steve Smith |
Collie X Retriever |
Ash has 1 Novice win from 2002 and is looking for his
2nd to go Senior. Ash has competed at Crufts, and fathered a super
litter |
| Becky |
Becky Boo |
Ian Bateman |
Border Collie |
You can normally hear Ian and Becky before you see
them - his recognisable command of "Stay There" rings out
in true dulcet tones. Still, Becky has stunning speed and
enthusiasm, and one day, when she gets it right, they will be
unbeatable. |
| Breeze |
Creel Clarissa |
Trev Candy |
GSD |
Trev has worked hard on Breeze's contacts and these
are now much more reliable. On the right course, Breeze could
quite easily gain that elusive first novice win. |
| Cassie |
Wild and Wonderful |
Jackie Smith |
Collie X |
Cass has had some injury problems during 2002 so
Jackie has not been able to help her to achieve her full
potential. Although Cass can run like the wind, on the course
she prefers to be accurate rather that speedy. |
| Chester |
Silver Fox |
Sue Bray |
Collie X |
Chester won out of starters in 2002, and has had some
good placings, but he can be inconsistent. However, show him a
tennis ball and he flys! |
| Charlie |
Pajenbeck True Grit |
Jill Oliver |
Flat Coat Retriever |
Charlie, a handsome black Flatcoated Retriever was
born in 1998. He has been laid off for 2 years due to luxating
patella's. He has a fantastic personality, crosses his front
legs when relaxing, plays hide and seek in the garden and is so mad
about balls - he takes them out of dogs mouths he has never met
before! Now 6 years old but still
acting like a 2 year old hooligan. He has had a successful
year and is now moving up to "Intermediate", thanks to his
kennelmate (coming 2nd to Aggy's 1st in Starters Agility at
Easington). I hope he will not be out of his depth and
continues to enjoy his passion for Agility. |
| Elsa |
Dinas Elsa Pennant |
Roger Teasdale |
WSD |
Elsa was be 2 years old in December
2003. She's a white and black rescue collie from Ireland. She is
small, slim and very fast and agile. She is also quick to learn
and her training is going well. She has won 3 starters classes so
far during the 2004 season, and is looking forward to her
Intermediate debut. She just loves agility and it is helping to keep Roger
fit and very active trying to keep up with her!
|
| Grace |
Charbonny Saving Grace |
Shirley Frankcom |
Belgian Shepherd |
Taking a break from Agility this year while
Shirley works on making her new house habitable! But
we'll be back |
| Hattie |
Hurricane Hattie |
Amy Smith |
Lurcher |
Hatti has a number of Novice wins, but all for
Jumping. Amy has worked hard on the contacts this year, and
Hatti is fast becoming a very consistent agility dog too, qualifying
for the ABC finals in 2004. |
| Jade |
Dinas Jade Pennant |
Roger Teasdale |
Working Sheepdog |
Jade is 8 years old and is
still competing at Starter level, but not for much longer as
Rogers other dog Elsa has recently won out. She is generally
careful enough to get clear rounds in the course time, but not fast
enough for the higher places. But she enjoys herself and it helps
keep her fit and active |
| Josh |
Brock of the Dale |
Hannah Cook |
Working Sheepdog |
Josh never learnt how to jump properly and consequently his clear
rounds have beenn few and far between. Hard work and lots of
training have seen his jumping style gradually improve. He has
gained a first in graduate novice agility and a second and fourth
at novice. Can the "new improved" josh go on to
gain his first proper win?
|
| Kes |
Mister Preston Keswick |
Jackie Smith |
Collie X Shepherd |
Kes has always had a disrespect of poles, but this
season Jackie has worked hard with this and has had some success, undoubtedly
Kes will be capable of a Novice win next season |
| Meg |
Flynns Little Sweetheart |
Bob Sharp |
WSD |
Rescued from an Agility household at 10 months where
she was being bullied by the other dogs this lightweight red/white
bitch, 18 months old in December is now registered as Flynns
little sweetheart, which says it all. An originally shy and
quiet dog she has blossomed and delights in agility being quick over
the ground and with wickedly tight turns. Bob has deliberately
not rushed her training and will not compete until ready but a
glimpse of her potential was seen at N.Derbys fun day where she went
clear in jumping first time out. Training is going well with
solid a.frame and dog walk contacts, whilst recent introduction
to weaves and see saw hold no fear. The winter will be spent getting
used to each others movements starting in the UKA nursery class in
January, and hopefully debut early in the new season |
| Nel |
Celtic Lightning of Llyn |
Veronica Wilson |
Working Sheepdog |
Nell is a 4 year old "failed sheepdog",
but has found her niche in agility. She is fast but only has little
short legs, so has to work hard. Her contacts are good although she
is prone to flying the seesaw - but we are working on it! Veronica
thinks she will be a judge in her next life as she never takes her
eye off other competitors in the ring and gets really annoyed if
anyone blocks her view. In 2002 she qualified out of elementary and
in 2003 she won Starters Agility at Norfolk. |
| Scotch |
Detania Rocket Fuel |
Julie Smith |
Border Collie |
Scotch
is a red and white border collie from the Detania Kennels. He turned
one in September 2004 and his attention and willingness to work is
outstanding. He is
extremely fast and already achieving good contacts.
He loves to work and is a typical manic collie around agility
equipment, but so cuddly and affectionate at home.
Scotch’s debut will be at the Scunthorpe Show in April
2005. |
| Skip |
Offally Lad |
Bob Sharpe |
Working Sheepdog |
As stated last year Skip benefitted
enormously from Bobs personal winter training and finished 3rd in
the club novice competition despite competing much less than
others due to injury and lack of caravan. Still a relatively slow
collie he had 2 second places in a day at Easington.Handler dog
combination is now as good as it is likely to be so the 200 plus
club points acheived last year should be attainable again this
season.
|
| Timber |
Wood You Believe It |
Karen Marriott |
Working Sheepdog |
Timber is a rescue dog, who exhibits some bizarre
behaviours. He has come very close to Novice wins this year
and it shouldn't be long before he has one to his credit. |
| Zita |
Delark Chianti |
Rod Norton |
Belgian Shepherd |
Zita look time out this year to raise a family,
trouble was, she kept "mum" about who the father
was. A few dogs in the boarding kennels were under
suspicion. The pups were however very very cute |

| Ayza |
Glenroyal Xara |
Cath Candy |
GSD |
Ayza has now started competing and has had 3 places
already all with Cathy, she is showing potential, and Cathy thinks
that some of this is down to the private training she did with her
favourite collie Cruise, this helped to keep her focused, as there
were not so many distractions, as she is a very nosy dog. |
| Fly |
Megate Glen Firefly |
Pauline Sharp |
Working Sheepdog |
Fly a rescue dog obtained from the
Agilitynet website has been with Pauline since April and both are
learning the sport together. Typical of working stock Fly has a
strong herding instinct and is an avid watcher of agility from the
side, but is now much more focused on her handler. An
excellent jumper and fast weaver, she has had one clear round
already and twice completed fast rounds with only 5 faults. Winter
will be spent on further improving her wait, weave entries and
contacts which will enable her to be competitive next season.
But not too competitive says Pauline.
|
| Seegar |
Axelan Dragonheart |
Cath Candy |
GSD |
A late starter due to lameness, he is very consistent
and does have his moments of speed. Cath lives in hope of him
getting a starter win, and if the course is right, he will. What he
lacks in working ability, he more than makes up for with his
stunning good looks. |
