Qualify.
Message to Bobs Babes from Big Bob himself -
Thanks to you all for the effort that you have put in over the past
season. I am as delighted as you are at the success you have had and
pleased to have helped in whatever way I could.
Special mention must go to Nicky
Hill who last September could not get Tag to jump full
height, and has since had 3 starter wins and 2 top 10 Novice places. Lynsey
Waters who in 3 months has discovered a wait,a weave entry and
personal speed that she never knew she had,won Elementary and got
pregnant ( can we thank Bob for this????). Jill Oliver
seeing the light again, discarding the windmills and qualifying for 2
National Finals. Gemma Brunt joining late in the year
but quickly adapting her handling and winning out of Starters.and of
course Pauline who also won out in between making the
tea and eating cake.
Next year watch for Marilyn and
Julie when the awesome speed of Scotch and Flyte is
controlled, and I have a sneaky feeling that Ann Hinz will
surprise a few with her youngster.
Winter training starts 8th October (subject
to Commitee Approval) and I will contact you re times.
Massive congratulations to Jackie for gaining a place at Olympia with merley Borderstorm boy Zak. We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for you.
The club show proved fruitful for the flyball team, Scunthorpe Steelers, who cruised into a Crufts place by winning the tournament. Well done to all of them, they looked like they were coasting this year. Lisa and Ski also qualified for the CSJ finals in September with Jackie and Zac taking a reserve spot too.
September 05 - Well done to the following dogs and handlers who have won into new levels over the past few weeks: Lindsey and Riley out of Elementary, Gemma and Chaz and Pauline and Fly out of Starters, Ski and Lisa into Senior, Jean and Raine into Ticket Obedience.
1st August 05 - Well done to Jackie and Zak who won Novice Agility at Derbyshire this weekend, and Nicki and Tag who won Starters Jumping at Empingham the previous week! Also well done to Hannah and Maddy who also qualified for the final of the Adams Derby finishing a creditable 5th.
Club Members did it in style over this last weekend at Barnard Castle - Marilyn and Sally got that 2nd elusive Novice win to take them to Senior, and also qualified for the Adams Derby Final along with Sue Bray and Inca. Hannah and Maddy got their 1st Novice win, Helen and Gemma won the Open Agility, and Lisa and Dare won a further 3 classes. Well done everyone.
Well done to Julie and Scotch - the latest of Bobs Babes to win out of Starters - she did it in style at Norfolk.
Success for Bobs Babes !!!
Huge congratulations from me to the
following
Nicky Hill and Tag - 2nd
and 7th in Starters 5th in Elementary and an incredible 9th in
Novice Agility. Thats 60 pts in only your second show ( watch out Ann
Hinz)
Jill Oliver and Aggie-1st
and 3rd in Graduate Novice ( Whats happened to those slow clear rounds
??? )
Forget the 3 starter wins for Hannah
and Maddy remember the 4th place in Open,(she beat at least one
good dog there).and dont forget Josh twice placed in
starters.
But pride of place goes to Pauline
and Fly 17th in starters jumping and only bitten once. I am
delighted at what you have acheived with a very difficult dog.
Keep up the good work, Its great to see
these successes,
Bob
Great news for Shirley and Flair - winning pre-beginners at Beverley!
WELL DONE Hannah and Maddie for winning Starters Agility and coming 2nd in Starters jumping at Wilmslow yesterday! You deserve it.
Congratulations to Angie's "Buffy" for giving birth to 8 (wow!) wonderful baby Border Collies.

Well Done to Hannah Cook at Wilmslow, not only winning the Novice Graduate with youngster Maddy, but coming 2nd in Novice Jumping with Josh and finally leaving Elementary behind. Also well done to Dare for coming 4th in a huge Senior Jumping Class.
Lisa's Cruise has finally become a man, and is to become a daddy in March. His new girlfriend, red merle Midge, did however show him her beautiful white teeth a number of times, but in the end couldn't resist his charms. Fingers crossed for the patter of tiny paws.
At their Christmas Party, some club members donated money instead of sending Christmas Cards, raising £47. Club Secretary Jackie (shown right) presented this to Alex to put towards her rescue activities.
Well done to the Scunthorpe Team, Lisa, Jackie, Karen and Helen, who came a creditable 5th in the Finals of the Pedigree Interclub Team.
AGILITY TRAINING WORKSHOPS Basic Skills for Competition These
sessions are aimed at either the existing handler with a young dog, or
those whose dog can complete all the equipment to an acceptable level and
wish to compete for the first time. It may also benefit the existing
handler who is encountering problems in competition, but the suitability
in such cases needs to be discussed beforehand. The
objective of the sessions will be to instill into the dog/handler
combination, the basic skills needed
to compete successfully and will consist initially of repetitive work
ensuring sound contacts and an understanding of simple handling techniques
It will also show the handler the methods of training allowing them to
practice and perfect their moves away from the class. Improved Handling Skills/Course Management These
sessions are designed to help those who have completed the Basic Skills
Course put their newly acquired skills into practice, whilst also allowing
extensive use of contact equipment to further develop these techniques, so
vital to success. They would also suit the current handler who wants to
improve their performance by managing the dog and course better. Once
again much of the work will be repetitive and the aim will be to make the
basic handling skills second nature to both dog and handler. Training will
largely consist of working small stations/combinations of equipment, with
the emphasis on educating the handler as to the techniques available to
allow them further practice away from the class. Once
the above skills are in place we will look at course management and show
you how to cut seconds off your current time, change the clear rounds into
places and if you dare…. Change the places into wins. Each workshop will consist of 8 week sessions paid for in advance at the standard training fee and due to the personal tuition involved will be strictly limited to a maximum of eight dogs on a first come first served basis. The Basic Skills course will commence on Wednesday 1st September at 6.00. The second course is likely to follow but bookings will be taken now. For more details and to
register contact Pauline on 07831 358966 or email bobsharpe@btinternet.com Please
remember that club rules currently allow only one training session per dog
per week and these workshops will count as one session.
Well done to Jackie and Zak, for achieving their BFA flyball dog status first time out with over 200 points. And also to Jamie, who also got his flyball dog certificate with new handler Hannah!
THANK YOU - from Bob Sharpe
I would like to take this opportunity of
thanking all those who were genuinely pleased at my promotion to Senior
on Saturday but must mention in particular those from the Thursday
training class without whose support I could not have acheived my
current level.
Karen for
providing the competition to make me try harder.
Lisa
for not providing the competition
Marilyn for never
complaining when I pushed in
Helen for
always smiling
Amy for
allowing Flynn to chew all her toys
Jackie for lending
me the flyball box (cant think of anything else )
Trevor for
starting the whole thing off
Cath
for allowing me to run without the club shirt.
Pearl for
her wholehearted support of a fellow veteran
Jill
for finally seeing the light, changing nights and sticking up for
me against overwhelming odds.
Special thanks to Hannah for providing
the Video that was the catalyst to the improvement, and lastly to the
very special lady in my life amongst all these others, to Pauline for
un-complainingly ( well almost ) allowing me to pursue the sport, often
to the detriment of other household duties.
It is appreciated though not always shown,
BOB
Weardale proved a great show for lots of club members - both senior flyball teams qualified for Crufts, with the Steelers just having the edge over the newly formed Free Spirits, and the Junior team qualified too. Bob Sharpe and Flynn took the Novice Agility finally making him senior (about time too - what kept you?), the junior team took 2nd in the YKC team. Gemma and Chaz got 4th in the Elementary Jumping, Helen and Gemma were 3rd in the senior, and Lisa and Dare got 1st reserve spot in the Chum and so are hoping for a call up. Other rosettes.....Mazzer and Sally in 2 novice classes, Karen and Rio in the Novice too, along with new dog Sky (Altricia Blue Larissa - half sister to Lisa's Dare). And Lisa and Karen got two places in the pairs - with Timber and Fizz, and Rio and Cruise. Apologies if I missed anyone - keep your results coming in.
Belated congratulations to Richard Blanchard and Scooby for winning the CSJ Novice Agility at Wirral, and also coming second in the Novice Jumping.
Rugby 2004 - Congratulations to the Scunthorpe Team, who won the Team Competition qualifying them for the Pedigree finals in September. They were - Lisa and Dare, Jackie and Fizz, Karen and Spice, and Helen and Gemma. Amy and Hattie, and Marilyn and Sally were listed reserves.
There were also lots of prizes for the Scunthorpe Group, Jackie and Zak got 2nd in Novice, Karen and Rio got 4th in Novice too. Timber and Karen gained a 6th place, and Lisa and Cruise got 13th in the Open, behind Dare who got 6th.
Huge congratulations to junior member Katy Norton who got 1st and 2nd in the Junior Under 12 with Lucy and Ruby. Absolutely Brilliant!
As usual apologies for anyone I missed.
Tia 20/7/2001 - 14/7/2004 After a very brave battle against a still unknown illness, Tia lost her battle for life today. Throughout it all she was one very special "Tigster" and leaves a huge, far too quiet hole in everyones life that she touched. She will stay in our hearts forever and is now with the brothers and sister she had never met until today. Their gain is most certainly our loss.
Always our very "special" girl!

UKAgilty Show - 10th July - Bob and Pauline were the first club members to attend a show with this new Agility organisation. First impressions are that this was a well organised show. Both Bob and Pauline had a successes, with Flynn finishing 1st in the Novice Agility and 4th in Novice Jumping, and Skip gaining 3 places. Flynn therefore gained 16 points in the UKA scoring system, and Skip gained 6 points. And Pauline with Fly were 2nd in the Beginners Steeplechase, and were also placed in Gamblers, gaining 10 points with 24 needed to progress.
Reporter Bob Sharpe writes... ....The Free Spirits flyball team containing Cruise, Josh, Flynn, Fly and cameo appearances from Dare had an outstanding debut result winning Division 4 at York on Saturday. The fastest time of 19.55 seconds was not only the quickest of the division but also faster than any recorded in Division 3,so rapid promotion to Div 2 looks likely. Key members were Hannah/Josh with a faultless performance as lead dog,and Lisa whose tight changeovers under pressure were a feature of the day. One must also mention the only non Scunthorpe member 12 year old Becky Phillipson whose working cocker Connie gained great experience in her first run at this level and will be a key member in the future. Other performances of note were Hannah/Josh who came 4th in the individual competition with a time of 4.40 seconds ( Winner 4.31) and 6th in the pairs with Bob/Fly. Special thanks also to Jackie for the long term loan of the box
Huge congratulations to junior member Gemma Brunt and her WSD Chaz, who not only won Elementary Jumping at Empingham Agility Show, but then went on to win Pre-Beginners in the Grimsby/Cleethorpes Obedience show the following weekend!
30th June 2004 - I would
like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped on my ring at North
Derbyshire on Sunday, and congratulations to Roger, Bob and Jackie
who all demonstrated exactly how the courses should be run!
Shirley Frankcome (Judge)
North Derbyshire - this 2 day show saw lots of rosettes for club members. Well done to Roger and Elsa for winning another Starters, with Cath and Seegar also in the places. Lisa and Cruise won Novice Jumping, and Bob and Flynn gained a 2nd in Novice Agility, with Jackie and Zak a close 4th. Bob and Skip, Karen and Timber and Amy and Hatti also had a number of places over the weekend, as did Lisa and Dare, Helen and Gemma, Karen and Spice and Richard and Scooby. Again, apologies if I missed anyone.
Tatton Park - There were rosettes for Lisa and Dare, and also Karen and Rio at Tatton, and Jackie and Zak made an impressive debut in the pouring rain.
ABC Finals - well done to Amy and Hatti for doing so well at the ABC finals, only getting faulted on an up contact.
Well done to Matthew and Ann Hinz who gained a creditable 3rd place in the Pedigree Trek Pairs at Wilton. Fingers crossed you may make the finals.
AMAZING AT WILTON - A clean sweep in the Novice Agility was achieved by Scunthorpe members - The class was won by Bob Sharpe with Flynn, who also got 4th with Skip, 2nd was Richard Blanchard with Scooby, and 3rd was Karen Marriott with Rio. Roger and Elsa won the Starters, Lisa and Dare won the Open Jumping, Helen and Gemma got 2nd in Open Agility, and there were also Rosettes for Lisa and Fizz in the Open and Hannah and Josh in Starters along with Ann and Fly who got 5th place. Apologies if I missed anyone. A very good club day out.
June 5th/6th - Wyre (Cartmel) presented lots of rosettes and trophies to Scunthorpe members at their show at the beginning of June. Helen and Gemma had 2 second places, Lisa and Dare had 3 second places and a third, Marilyn and Sal had a third and Lisa and Cruise had a second. There were also lots of lower places for all the above members as well as Karen with Spice and Rio, and an "oh so close" round for Pauline and Fly in the Starters Jumping.
Huge Congratulations from all club members to Roger Teasdale and Elsa (Dinas Elsa Pennant) for winning Starters Agility at Nottingham on the 30th May. Very well deserved. Also, some good places for Jill and Bell in the pairs, Lisa and Dare, Helen and Gemma, Bob with both Flynn and Skip, and Karen with Rio.
The New Agility Warrant - get your KC Agility Record Book in preparation for the new award commencing 1st July 2004. Who will be the first club member to get their Agility Warrant? Remember its consistency that counts!
The Agility Warrant‘An Agility Warrant will be issued on application by the registered owner at the time of qualification in respect of a dog that has obtained 200 points in standard agility and jumping classes at Championship and Open Shows. At least 50 points (25%) must be gained in agility (as opposed to jumping) classes. Points will be awarded at any level but may not be gained in any part of the Championship class. Points will also only be awarded where the dog has obtained a clear round within the course time. Points awarded will be as follows:- Points
Points will also be awarded for clear rounds within the course time as follows:-
Where less than 10 places are awarded in any class a competitor obtaining a clear round not in the places will be awarded the points applicable for a clear round in that class, i.e. 2 points for an agility class and 1 point for a jumping class. Administrative notes
Waldridge Fell (8th/9th May 04) - Congratulations to Bob Sharpe and Flynn for their 2nd place in Novice Agility, so close but yet so far. Also to Cath and Seegar for their 5th place in Starters and Lisa and Dare for their 5th in Inter Jumping.
Easter Show - Dashin Dogs - this was a fruitful show for Lisa and Cruise who won Novice Jumping on Bank holiday Monday. Also Lisa and Dare won the Advanced Jumping on Easter Sunday. There were also high places for Jill Oliver with Aggie and Charlie, and Rod Norton with Lucy and Ruby. Not many club members attended this show, but it is definately worth putting in the diary for next year - lots of runs and a relaxed atmosphere in a lovely deer park.
Otley at the end of March brought rosettes for Jill Oliver with Aggie and Charlie, Richard Blanchard with Scooby (a brilliant 2nd in Novice Agility) and places for Amy with Hattie too. Also Ann and Fly, and Matthew and Cassie picked up places. Apologies if I've missed anyone. Scunthorpe show saw further places for Marilyn and Helen with Sal and Gemma. Both shows saw promising team performances too.
16th March 2004 - Congratulations to Karen Mariott for winning Novice Agility with Rio at Newton Heath and also Hannah Cook with Josh for winning the Graduate Novice Class. Also well done to Marilyn with Sally and Bob with Flynn for their 6th places. Looks like the start of a good season for SOATC members!
18th December
Doncaster Bellestars 1st team, including Josh,Fly and
debutant Flynn competed at Newark on Saturdayand were included in
Division 2 for the first time. Not to be overawed they acheived 2nd
place, and on a slow indoor surface produced not only their fastest ever
time of 19.93 seconds, but also the fastest time in Division 2 over the
two days." Lady of the Match" was Fly who in the final race 3
times overhauled a 2 hurdle deficit to win and move the team from 4th to
2nd place. On Sunday personal ill fortune
deprived the teams of 3 dogs ( Cruise,Jamie and Fizz),so two weaker
inexperienced teams ran in division 4 and finished 4th and 5th. Well
done to Heather Richards and Meg who with a little more experience will
surely be moving up a team, but once again the star of the day was
female as Ann Hinz in her first tournament running Cassie overcame
her early nerves to run every leg without a fault and again beat Matthew
to the Rosettes.
12th November 2003 - Wilmslow Starter Show brought success for Carol and Scooby who won Starters Agility and also gained 3rd in the Helter Skelter, and Bob and Skip who won the Graduate Novice class. A very good start to the season indeed!
22nd September - HUGE CONGRATULATIONS must go to Carol Blanchard and Jade (Glensue Dee) for winning Starters Agility at Easington after knocking on the door for so long. You should be very proud of yourself Carol. Also well done to Cath Candy for her 3rd and 4th in Starters with Ayza and Seegar, to Jackie Smith for her 8th place in Novice Agility with Tia, and to my girls Fizz and Dare for getting 4th and 5th in the Advanced. Also to Amy for a 6th In Novice Jumping with Hattie. Others with prizes were Scooby, Timber, Sally, Gemma, Spice, Ash, and Fern. Well done to the SOATC Reds too for their 2nd in the Team - Breeze, Sally, Ash and Hattie! What a good weekend all round, despite the rain, Lisa :-)
Luck didn't go the way of Lisa and Amy, or Marilyn and Margaret at the Pedigree Trek pairs finals in Birmingham. Each pair had 5 faults which put them out of the placings. Back again next year.
27th August - THE PATTER OF TINY PAWS - Caroline and Dave have high hopes that Jazzes recent liaison with a Standard Poodle will result in some little "colliepoodles" in the next few weeks - watch this space for an update. Lisa's Dare will be visiting Joe Boy again to hopefully produce some more pups as lovely as the last litter, and young Cruise has the chance of doing what boys do best in the next few months with a little girlie collie!
27th August - Lisa and Fizz just missed out on a place at Olympia by coming 6th in their Pedigree Semi-final at the Town and Country show on 25th August, only the top 5 went through. Fizz had an early clear round but then had to sit and watch other dogs record slightly faster times. Never mind - try again next year.
27th August - Josh and Flynn entered the Open
section of "Clever Dogs" at The Four Counties Show in Measham
on Monday 25th, a knock out competition on a course combining agility
and flyball obstacles, and both won their respective divisions. Josh
beat the current leader of the 2003 championship in the semi final and
the 2001 champion in the final recording a fastest time of 14.88
seconds. Not to be outdone Flynn who was seeded in Division 3 (as
overexuberance resulted in a slow seeded time) won the division with the
fastest time of the day 14.84 seconds. This
achievement is compounded by the fact that it was Josh's first attempt
and Flynn was kindly allowed to compete by the organisers although only
16 months old, and it was his first attempt in the open competition
having completed only once previously in starters. Hannah
also won Elementary agility with what she describes as her worst ever
agility round and Bob describes as very lenient judging.
11th August - Performances at the club show on the 9th and 10th August are well worth mentioning - a special well done to Marilyn Murphy and Sally for a win in Novice Jumping, to Carol and Scooby for an excellent 4th place at their first show, to Pauline and Fly for a first clear round, and to Cath and Ayza, Karen and Rio, and Hannah and Josh for their first rosettes together. Also Jill and Charlie had some excellent places as did Roger and Jade. Lisa and Dare, and Carol and Jade also picked up 2nd places. Sue Bray and Richard Blanchard made their judging debuts and both put forward some well thought out courses. The list of other performances, clear rounds and rosettes is too numerous to mention, but the club should be proud that it can put on such a good show and pick up so many rosettes. Well done and many thanks to all involved.
Scunthorpe members have a lot to be proud of in their performances over the last few weeks at agility shows across the country. Amy and Hattie have qualified at Weardale for the Pedigree ABC finals for 2004, and also for the Pedigree Trek Pairs finals with Lisa and Fizz, held in Birmingham in September. Lisa and Dare have reached the Pedigree Gamblers finals held in August (with Karen and Spice as reserves), Lisa and Fizz have a reserve ticket to the Chum Semis (fingers crossed for a place!) and Bell and Fern have qualified for a Starters final too. Gill and Charlie have a reserve spot at the ABC finals and seem to be going from strength to strength, Marilyn and Sally have achieved a number of good places over the last few weeks, and Jackie and Kes clocked up their first clear round at Weardale.
Unfortunately Lisa and Dare failed in their first attempt to be selected for Team GB for the World Championships. Dare started the day well, lying 2nd after the first round, and 6th after the 2nd with 2 clear rounds, but then had an elimination and final round of 10 faults. However, they now have a better idea of what is expected and will use some of the courses for training over the winter to perfect some of the handling required. Oh well, back again next year! Well done to all those who qualified.
7th July 03' Reporter Bob Sharpe writes....
Doncaster Bellestars including 3 Scunthorpe dogs Josh,
Skip and Fly (Paulines) won division 4 of the BFA event at Askham Bryan
on Saturday 5th July. It was only the second competition that the newly
formed team had entered and it was Flys first official competition after
only 3 months training, and she acheived in excess of 200 points to be an
official flyball dog and exempting her from starter competitions.
Dare and Lisa, running for the Break-Aways also achieved their FD award achieving 259 points.
In addition to the main competition Josh and Fly reached
the quarter final of the pairs event losing out to a pair including last
years top flyball dog,and Flynn(still under competition age but allowed
to compete in the fun event) just missed the quarter final cut off after
completing a best time of 4.45 seconds.
Finally our talent spotter saw a future star in the
making when Jamie was easily the fastest dog in division 6 running for
the Break-Necks after a lunch time training session. Lets negotiate a
transfer fee now !!!
29th May 03 - things are hotting up in the members championships. The Starter competition is currently a battle between Jill and Veronica, Amy is leading the Novice, and Lisa leading the Open (but with that pesky Helen nipping at her heels)! Don't forget to put in all your points now that the season is well underway.
Flynn handled by Pauline and Fly (Paulines
new dog ) handled by Bobs daughter, made their competitive flyball debut
in the starter team of Doncaster Bellestars at Eggborough on
Monday. After a hesitant start when Fly found the other dogs more
interesting and forgot the ball, the team won all three afternoon races
to finish a creditable 3rd in Division 1. Flynn ran in every leg whilst
Fly was lead dog all afternoon contributing to a fastest time of 21.34
seconds.
Saturday 19th April at Carlton Towers saw BFA flyball tournament rosettes for Dare, Fizz, Sasha and Tia. Dare ran in Division 3 for the Break-Aways and gained a 3rd place with the teams fastest time this season, and Fizz, Sasha and Tia running for the Break-Necks gained a 4th in Division 4 (much to Lisa and Jackie's astonishment).
BFA flyball - Josh and Skip running in the same team for the first time
helped the Yorkshire Bouncers win division 3 (out of 7)at Warrington on
Sunday13th April, they also contributed to the clubs record points total
for a competition (1724) of which Josh achieved 431 points and Skip
400.; Josh has now obtained in excess of 750 points in 3 competitions
whilst Skip is now classed as an intermediate dog with 1350 points from
7 comps. Pauline tells us "Its still
not as much fun as agility though but the politics are on a different
level". We know what you mean Pauline!!!!!!
Scunthorpe Agility Show - 5th April 2003. Too many people to thank and congratulate individually, but the best result of the day must go to junior club member Matthew Hinz and Cassie, for winning Starters Jumping. Hope this is the start of a great agility career Matthew. From all at SOATC.

29th March - at Manor agility there were wins for Lisa and Dare, and Lisa and Sasha (brought out of retirement for the occasion), and also a brilliant second place for Jackie and Tia. There were also rosettes for Bell and Fern, Jill and Charlie, Amy and Hattie and Lisa and Fizz. Good rounds were also seen from Lindsey and Chance, at their first show, Jill with Aggie, Caroline with Jazz, and Matthew with Flo and Cassie. Thanks to Manor Agility for the five fun days.

22nd February 2003 - a good day for the club at 2 different shows - at Manor, Hannah Cook and Josh repeated their win of last time out with another win, this time in Elementary Gamblers. There were 2nd places for Matthew Hinz and Cassie, and Richard Blanchard with Jade, and 3rd spots for Bell McLeish and Fern, and also Caroline Booth with Jazz in her first show. At Newton Heath, Trev Candy and Breeze gained a respectable 6th in the Novice Agility. Lets hope these good results continue through out the year - well done everyone!
7th February 2003 - Manor Agility Show back in January saw success for Hannah Cook and Josh, getting a much overdue first place. Lets not forget Jackie with Fizz, Amy with Hattie and Veronica with Nell who picked up second places too. Don't forget to let us know if you achieve any successes at shows where your webmaster doesn't attend!
28th Jan 2003 - Dares pups are all homed and the first four leave this weekend (sob sob). Jackie's and Amy's pups are staying for an extra week.
28th Jan 2003 - The Jo Fraser lecture and demonstration is to be held at Glandford Park (Scunthorpe United Ground) in the Iron Bar on Friday the 28th February. It starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9.30pm. A bar is provided. There are still places available at £10 per head. The lecture is especially useful for those attending elements of the training weekend, but in any case, provides an entertaining evening. Contact Lisa for more information.
28th Jan 2003 - Bob and Skip need a pairs partner for Scunthorpe show. E-Mail Lisa who will let Bob know. - Update - 7th February 2003, and Bob has been paired with Virginia Harry - editor of Agility Voice no less! Bob, be afraid, be very afraid!
Subs are now due for 2003 - £10 for the year - please remember to bring your vaccination certificates
2nd January 2002 - Skip has now officially
become a BFA flyball dog exceeding the necessary 200 points at
Anglesey in December, in only his second competition. He is now achieving
sub 5 second times and competing in division 2. Is
this due to his previous training at Scunthorpe or to the fact that he
is less hampered by Bob in this discipline.
Dare and Joes pups were born on the 20th December 2002, 3 dogs and 3 bitches, 3 of them merley like their mum. They have received their first visitors - Auntie Jackie and Auntie Amy. Mum and babies doing well, Granny Lisa is knackered! Photos and updates for the pups can be seen on Lisa's own website www.borderstorm.co.uk
Training Days have been organised for late February, early March, with Crazymaesy's Jo Fraser. SOATC members only, but any remaining places will be opened up to other clubs. Click Here for details (places going quickly!)
Newton Heath Open Show saw prizes for Amy and Hattie (3rd in Novice Jumping) and Bob and Skip (6th in Graduate Agility) - well done to you both.
A local limited non KC show at Folkingham also saw many successes for club members, notable were Bell and Fern who gained 2nd in Power and Speed, and Lindsey with Riley and Hannah with Josh who gained 4th in the pairs. Hope someone videoed that pairs run, we'd all love to see it. Just how pale did Hannah go when Lindsey went clear??? And what about Freya the veteran mini with Veronica, who came 2nd in her Power and Speed category. Well done to all of you.
23rd November at Newton Heath saw the debut (albeit
unofficially) of two of the clubs future agility stars at only 7 months
old.
Flynn and Cruise both slipped their leads and entered the
ring with the competition in full flow, Flynn gaining the most points by
completing two obstacles before being apprehended, Cruise showed his
true pedigree by instantly obeying his command and returning before
Trevor, patiently waiting on the line, began his run. Meet Cruise

Thanks to Roving Reporter (or should that be Rover Reporter - sorry!) Pauline for this report.
November 2002 - Dare (Lisa's Blue Merle Collie, otherwise known as Altricia Wishing Silver), recently had an "intimate liaison" with Jackie and Alan Gardener's Tri Colour Collie, Joe Boy. The results of their liaison should be born on or around the 18th December. What a fun Christmas in the Adamson house. Latest Update - Dare was scanned on the 18th November and is definitely expecting!

7th October 2002 - So close but yet so far! Well done to Scunthorpe Blacks who only had 5 faults overall in the Crufts Team Competition at Wilton on the 6th October. The team were Jackie and Kes, Amy and Hattie, Marilyn (Mazzer) and Sally, and Karen and Timber. Its only at matter of time guys ........

Its a 2 birth, end kitchen, with a loo, plus an awning included. For a couple of extra quid Cath might throw in Trev too! NOW SOLD - not sure whether the buyer got Trev thrown in or not!
