bullet  General Notes:

born in Lincolnshire, England. She was married to William de Braose about 1197. Some sources say that this was Maud's second marriage. The dates do not correlate to make this work. Is it possible that they were not married at all, and their son, John was illegitimate? He was raised by a nurse away from his parents and assuemd a different surname. Based on te dates, this had to be her first marriage. Solutions are: 1. They never married, 2 they divorced or annulled by 1200, or 3 William bied by 1200 instead of 1210.
